The first residents will soon move into the buildings in Haar that were previously used as a clinic. The conversion of the 22.5 hectare area, which the Upper Bavaria district sold to property developers in 2010, has been going on for years. But so far only new buildings have been moved into the park-like area. C7 GmbH, based in Munich, has now announced that the first historic buildings have been completely renovated and will be handed over to their new owners in February. Another player in the redevelopment of old buildings is Quarterback Immobilien AG from Leipzig, which is also building new buildings. Quarterback is planning 192 apartments in previous hospital buildings, 52 in new buildings. The start of construction was announced in autumn.

The C7 GmbH has been accompanying the development of the Art Nouveau park since 2014 and has an animated butterfly fly over the residential area in the green in an advertising film, as if to show that old buildings from the turn of the 20th century that have been vacant for years are turning out to be a beauty. In fact, a lot of effort has been made and quality has been insisted on, starting with the State Office for Monument Preservation and the municipality, which has taken care to create a largely car-free quarter during the land-use planning. However, a number of trees also had to give way, precisely because large underground garages were and are being built.

As C7 managing director Fridolin Lippens reports, in view of the completion of the first apartments, a tour with Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU) and employees of the building authority in the residential area labeled by C7 as “Quartier 1907 – Wohnen im Park” was recently undertaken around the to appraise high-quality design. Some of the six listed houses have been completely converted, 60 percent of the apartments have been sold, and sales for the last 30 apartments will begin in January 2022. Six rental apartments have been built in the clinic’s former craftsman’s yard.

Quarterback AG is redesigning the largest building in the area. In the five-wing gate building alone, 80 residential units are to be built on 7,820 square meters. The target is 244 residential units on a total of 23,100 square meters; plus 355 underground parking spaces. According to the quarterback, completion is targeted at the beginning of 2025.

At the moment it is unclear what will become of the ambitious new building project that the Upper Bavarian Home in the northeast of the area is planning with offices, medical practices, a café and a large discounter and for which the local council has already approved the building application. Mayor Bukowski recently reported that the project had stalled. The congregation hoped for speedy progress.
