BILD: How was the reunion after more than ten years with Susan Sideropoulos in front of the camera?

Daniel Fehlow: “It felt like we just saw each other half a year ago. There was such a familiarity right away. Our first meeting was like a time machine feeling! It was familiar, but of course we have evolved over the years.”

In the GZSZ offshoot, Leon falls in love with stalking victim Sarah (Sideropoulos). Have you ever had personal experience with stalkers?

missing: “Of course I still know that from my younger GZSZ time, when I started and still existed as a teen star. At that time, some fans found out where I live and slept in front of my apartment door. They found out my address through meticulous detective work. Back then, autograph cards were exchanged for telephone numbers. It was real dealing! They also called me and followed me on the train. I have experienced all that!”

Have you ever had to call the police?

missing: “No. But there were a few guys who were a bit jealous that their wives or girlfriends thought ‘Leon’ from GZSZ was great. Then they made stupid jokes. I was also threatened with violence.”

Meanwhile, Daniel Fehlow could also imagine a life of anonymity. In “Leon – Don’t Believe Everything You See” his role fulfills the dream of having his own restaurant by the sea. Fehlow could imagine a similar life in Turkey. His parents bought a home on the Mediterranean coast in the Antalya region 45 years ago.

BILD: Do you dream of a life on the Mediterranean?

Fehlow: “It’s not my very own lifelong dream, but in a certain way my father set an example for me. He has a small domicile in Turkey. And when he retired he started spending the winter time there all the time.”

You spent part of your childhood in Turkey. How did your parents love Turkey?

missing: “That was a funny story. My father was a teacher and taught in Berlin-Kreuzberg. At his elementary school he had many children and colleagues of Turkish origin. At some point one of my father’s colleagues said: ‘Hey, come and visit us in Turkey with your family!’ Then my parents visited him there. That’s how her love for Turkey came about.”

In the meantime, do you also spend your holidays there with your wife Jessica Ginkel (41) and their two children?

missing: “Yes! Turkey is almost like a second home for me. The second country I grew up in.”

You have been in a relationship with actress Jessica for ten years and have also been married since 2018. What is the secret recipe of your marriage?

missing: “That you keep looking at the other person and asking: Is everything okay? Is there one small thing I can do to play into your hands a little bit more?”

Is it an advantage if both are actors in a marriage?

missing: “Of course it leads to the fact that you always have understanding for the other person’s situation, but can never switch off, that you have to have understanding for it because you know it yourself.”

“Leon – Don’t believe everything you see” on Tuesday from 8.15 p.m. in feature length on RTL and on the streaming service RTL+ as an eight-part series on demand; albeit with a different dramaturgy.
