The shooting of the third part of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series has been completed. Director James Gunn has now announced this.
Fans of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series are eagerly awaiting the third part. Now director James Gunn (55) announced via Instagramthat filming is complete. The 55-year-old published a photo in which he was together with “Guardians” actors Chris Pratt (42), Pom Klementieff (36), Dave Bautista (53), Karen Gillan (34) and his brother Sean Gunn (47). sitting together comfortably.
“And this is the conclusion of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trilogy,” the filmmaker writes about the snapshot. He loves this “fantastic cast and crew and their wonderful talent and kind souls”. Gunn is a “lucky person” because he has “been able to accompany them all on this journey for almost a decade”. The director points out in the post that Zoe Saldana (43), who plays Gamora in the film series, was also present. “But the only picture I have of her is of an unannounced actor with us!”
James Gunn sees the ‘Guardians’ as ‘parts of myself’
Posted in another post among other things a photo the last clapper board. “After over 100 days of shooting and more than 3,000 takes, this is the take for the final shot,” explains Gunn. It goes on to say that he spent most of the last ten years of his life “working on and thinking about The Guardians.” He loves these characters, “I see them as parts of myself and parts of those I love”.
Zoe Saldana didn’t let it take her away either and looks at Instagram thankful for the last few years. “Thank you James Gunn for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Wow! 10 years have gone by so quickly!” the actress explained, posting several photos from the Guardians of the Galaxy set.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is slated to hit theaters in May 2023. The first part of the trilogy was released in 2014, followed three years later by “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”. James Gunn has already stated that he will not be making another film with the superhero team after the release of the third part.
