Rockstar Games released the first trailer for “Grand Theft Auto VI” a little earlier than planned and at the same time announced the game itself for 2025. It was actually expected that “GTA 6” would be released next year. The one and a half minute long film shows scenes from the game and also a female protagonist, Lucia. The game is set in a fictional version of the US metropolis of Miami in Florida. The video shows scenes in a landscape that resembles the Everglades, crocodiles in the city area, crowded beaches and numerous characters on the streets. Rockstar Games pushed forward the release of the ad because a leaked version was circulating.

“GTA 6” will be the “biggest and most impressive development to date” in the game series, assures Rckstar Games on the occasion of the release of the trailer. The game will be released on the Playstation 5 and the XBox Series X/S. The game continues its efforts to “expand the boundaries of what is possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” assures Rockstar founder Sam Houser. The interest in it is immense; just a few hours after the promotional video was published, it had already been viewed around 40 million times on YouTube.
“GTA 6” will be the first Rockstar game since “Red Dead Redemption 2,” which was released in fall 2018. Rockstar’s games are among the most complex productions in the entire industry. The predecessor of “GTA 6” released in 2013 is considered the most financially successful entertainment product of all time. The first gameplay scenes from “GTA 6” appeared online a year ago. Hackers from the group Lapsus$ captured and published the scenes from Rockstar. The videos showed unfinished footage with developer consoles. Rockstar said it was “extremely disappointed” about the leak in a statement.
