Did the makers of “GTA 6” take forbidden inspiration from “Florida Joker”? Rockstar may face a lawsuit.

In 2017, a mugshot made the rounds on the Internet worldwide: an American man with a heavy facial tattoo was arrested after threatening passers-by with a gun. He was then identified by the police and his photo was later published – as is common practice in the USA. Pictured is Lawrence Sullivan, whom the press later called ““Florida Joker”.

His tattoos are strongly reminiscent of Batman’s opponent The Joker, so he also had his characteristic laugh tattooed on him. A very similar person now appears in the first trailer for the upcoming gaming hit “Grand Theft Auto VI” from Rockstar Games. Although the person does not have green hair, but rather red, and the Joker smile is also missing, the eyes are almost identically framed in black and the entire facial expression is also strongly reminiscent of Sullivan – as is the orange prisoner clothing.

Of course, this didn’t go unnoticed by the “Florida Joker”, who is now on his TikTok channel put pressure on the makers. There he demands: “For everyone who thinks I’m hallucinating: That’s me. That’s the person from whom they got their inspiration. Do you see that? ‘GTA’ we need to talk.” Rockstar Games should give him one or two million US dollars: “You have taken my image, you have taken my life.”

Lindsay Lohan also sued Rockstar Games

A lawsuit in court would not be new territory for Rockstar Games. The actress Lindsay Lohan (37) had already sued the company for the previous game “Grand Theft Auto V” because she found one of the characters in it to be too similar to herself. After five years of litigation, the dispute ended with Lohan losing in court.

After the trailer was released, there were reports on the Internet that some of the scenes were taken from real life. In addition to the resemblance of the person in the game to the “Florida Joker”, fans also noticed other parallels to real images: For example, a real video of a woman twerking on a car has already gone viral. An almost identical scene can also be found in the official trailer.
