Rockstar Games has finally officially presented GTA 6. The first trailer confirms a lot of information. There’s bad news for PC gamers.

New York City – Rockstar Games has to do with the first trailer GTA 6 Christmas rang in earlier this year. After what feels like an eternity, the development studio has finally officially unveiled the new Grand Theft Auto. Much previously uncertain information has now been confirmed. Rockstar has revealed a rough release and the platforms on which the hotly anticipated game will appear. And PC gamers are once again left empty-handed – at least for the time being.

GTA 6 will initially only be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Take-Two doesn’t mention a PC version: The publisher behind Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto, Take Twohas parallel to GTA 6 trailer released a press release about the game. It says: “Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.” This should make it clear that the PC version of GTA 6 will only come onto the market at a later date. This was also the case with GTA 5, GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

When will GTA 6 be released on PC? The release for PS5 and Xbox is planned for 2025. Whether GTA 6 will even appear on the PC has not yet been confirmed, but it is likely. The only question is how much later the PC version will be. For comparison: GTA 5 appeared on the PC almost two years after the first console release. For Red Dead Redemption 2 the waiting time was “only” around a year. But at this point we can only speculate about the release of the PC version of GTA 6.

Why do PC versions always appear later?

Rockstar Games has never commented directly on this. This is probably because development and optimization requires more time for different hardware manufacturers. The same components are always installed in the consoles, while every computer has different components. In order for games to have at least somewhat consistent performance on all of these, development time is required.

For example, with the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, computers with Nvidia components in particular initially had major problems.

GTA 6: What else is known?

Leaks for GTA 6 Unfortunately, there were no big surprises. Even before the official announcement of GTA 6, it was known that the setting would be Vice City – a fictional version of Miami. But in the new Grand Theft Auto part, players will be able to explore a larger part of the state of Leonida (the fictional Florida) and other cities in addition to Vice City. How big the entire map will ultimately be is still unclear.

The trailer also introduces protagonist Lucia, who is probably just being released from prison. Her accomplice is also shown but not yet mentioned by name. According to the leaks, it is probably Jason. The complete one GTA 6 trailer is bursting with details – some of which are easy to miss. and fans can hardly wait for the release.
