Gröbenzell: No room for refugees – Fürstenfeldbruck

Of

Ariane Lindenbach, Groebenzell

Living space, which is also affordable, is a rare commodity in the district and in the entire greater Munich area. That was the case before 2015, when more than a million refugees came to the country. And the situation has not improved with the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. Currently, around 50 refugees are assigned to the district every week, who have to be housed somewhere. District Administrator Thomas Karmasin (CSU) has therefore recently thought about confiscating real estate in an extreme emergency – but private apartments are not meant by that. Against this background, it is incomprehensible for a Munich resident who would like to make two apartments available for Ukrainian refugees in Gröbenzell that the district office forbids him from using them as a residential building. According to the district building authority, among other things, the windows are too small because of an alleged central bridge to be recognized as a second escape route. An assessment that raises questions.
