“The effort you are making must actually materialize on the ground”, insists Pascal Mailhos, reminding the elected official that the State has “kept its commitments regarding the arrival of new police officers in the Lyon area”. The Ministry of the Interior had undertaken to assign 300 additional police officers to the Lyon conurbation by 2023. Two thirds are already in post. More CCTV cameras

The prefect is asking for more video protection cameras “without waiting for the result of the audit than [votre] community has just relaunched”. And pleads for a “partnership between national and municipal police” in this area.

Pascal Mailhos specifically requests the presence of a representative of the municipal police at the information and command center of the national police, during demonstrations. “The national police do not have direct control of the joystick which allows them to direct the CCTV cameras. She must call the municipal police. This wastes a few seconds which can have a significant impact on maintaining order, ”he argues. And to conclude: “This experiment must be implemented as soon as possible, as we have agreed”.
