There are these paragraphs that somehow come from ancient times, but then suddenly become very relevant. Paragraph 1a of the Renewable Energy Sources Act is one of these, or more precisely: its paragraph 3. By the end of March 2024, it says, the federal government must present a proposal “such as financing the expansion of renewable energies after the coal phase-out has been completed should be done”. Nobody currently knows when this phase-out will be completed, whether in 2030, 2035 or 2038. But March is already next month.
