The terror-suspected ex-soldier Daniel K. is back in custody in Great Britain three days after his prison escape. Even the British Prime Minister has spoken out about the case.

Three days after a terror suspect escaped from a prison in Great Britain, the British police caught the man: Daniel K., who was wanted, was arrested on Saturday, as the Metropolitan Police announced on the online service X, formerly Twitter. The man was arrested near the town of Chiswick. The Guardian reports that the arrest took place shortly before 11 a.m. (10 a.m. CEST).

According to the newspaper, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak even spoke out from the G20 summit in India: “I am very pleased with this news and thank the police officers for their fantastic work in the last few days, but also the public who have… “He helped the police with a large number of tips in their investigation.”

Ex-soldier Daniel K. escaped from prison

The 21-year-old former British soldier escaped from Wandsworth Prison in south London on Wednesday. Apparently he had taken advantage of his job in the prison kitchen to hide under a van. His escape triggered a large-scale manhunt, as a result of which security checks at ports and airports were tightened.

The ex-soldier was taken into custody in January after terrorism allegations against him were confirmed. Accordingly, K. is said to have tried to obtain information for a planned terrorist attack in August 2021. He is also said to have planted a dummy bomb at the Royal Air Force base in Stafford, central England, at the beginning of the year. His trial is scheduled for November 13th.
