Suffering from stage 4 cancer, with very slim chances of survival, the actress had asked her doctor not to tell her how long she had left to live. “Every day is a blessing, especially at this time,” said the actress in 2019 in the Australian show 60 Minutes . “I think the mind plays a big role in the healing process, she added. When you are diagnosed with cancer or a terrifying disease, you are suddenly given a deadline, she added. If you believe in numbers, you will make them come true. If someone says to you, ‘you have six months to live’, it’s quite possible that it is – because you believe it.”
Olivia Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. After undergoing a mastectomy, chemotherapy and mammoplasty, she suffered a relapse in 2013. Four years later, she announced have a cancerous tumor in the sacrum.
The actress then explained to treat her illness by using a mixture of conventional and alternative medicine, in particular consuming cannabis grown by her husband John Easterlin. His testimony had notably helped to lift the taboo on medicinal marijuana, a key component of his treatment which helped him find sleep, relieve his anxiety and soothe his pain.
