It is now almost seven years since a young wolf fell into a camera trap at the Grafenwöhr military training area. A little later, there were first signs that a pair of wolves were on the move in the extensive and strictly cordoned off area in the Upper Palatinate, which is used by American armed forces. Since then, experts have been counting on the establishment of a pack in Grafenwoehr every year. Every year the expectation was disappointed. The experts were at a loss.
