Gräfelfing prays for peace – district of Munich

Praying together for peace is the idea behind an initiative of the Catholic and Protestant parishes in Gräfelfing. This Friday, April 8, at 6 p.m., all Gräfelfinger and Ukrainians who have fled to the community are invited to an ecumenical prayer for peace on Eichendorffplatz. There will be “no big words,” says Markus Zurl, the pastor of St. Stefan. They should sing together, recite a passage from the Bible and pray together. A personal experience report from a person affected from the war zone is also expected. The Protestant pastors Bernd Reichert and Walter Ziermann, the Catholic colleague Markus Zurl and the chaplain Gregor Schweizer initiated the prayer for peace. “We hope that the war will come to an end,” says Zurl, who also wants the prayer to be understood as a declaration of solidarity.
