The municipality of Gräfelfing can also call itself a “bicycle-friendly municipality in Bavaria” from 2022 to 2028, as the working group for bicycle-friendly municipalities in Bavaria has announced. Gräfelfing successfully underwent the “demanding test procedure”, as did 14 other Bavarian municipalities. The award recognizes efforts made to date to advance cycling and must be recertified every seven years. The network of bicycle-friendly municipalities in Bavaria now has 93 members. The municipality of Feldkirchen is also new and is now also aiming for the title. The commitment of the cities and municipalities has only advantages for cyclists, says Bavaria’s Minister of Transport Kerstin Schreyer (CSU).
