Good man: Farewell to Ulrich Khuon from Deutsches Theater Berlin – Kultur

Ulrich Khuon says he’s felt like he’s seriously ill over the past few months. The outgoing director of the Deutsches Theater was constantly asked how he was doing now that the Khuon era in Berlin was coming to an end after 14 years and the 72-year-old was retiring. But after a number of farewell interviews had already been conducted and so many appreciations had been written in Constance, Hanover, Hamburg and Berlin, the stations of his career, the imaginary patient suddenly recovered. A letter from Zurich ended the mourning infection in April. Khuon was asked whether he could imagine taking over the interim directorship of the Schauspielhaus Zurich for a year when Nicolas Stemann and Benjamin von Blomberg ended the directorship there in 2024 after five years.
