The nominations for the important Golden Globes were announced in Beverly Hills on Monday. German actress Sandra Hülser was nominated for best actress in a drama for her role in “Anatomy of a Case.”

In the film by director Justine Triet she plays a successful writer under suspicion of murder. With Hülser, five other actresses are in the running in the “Best Actress in a Drama Film” category, including Lily Gladstone (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”) and Annette Bening (“Nyad”).

Golden Globes are awarded in 27 categories

The films “Anatomy of a Case” (France) and “The Zone of Interest” (Great Britain), in which Hülser also stars, are also in the running for the Golden Globes in the “Best Non-English Language Film” category. The German film “The Teacher’s Room” by director Ilker Çatak did not make it among the six nominees in this category.

The favorite “Barbie” is nominated in a total of nine categories and in the comedy category faces, among others, “Poor Things”, “The Holdovers” and “May December”. In the drama category, “Oppenheimer”, “Killers of the Flower Moon”, “Maestro” and “Past Lives” are also competing for the award for best film.

In the men’s ranks, actors such as Bradley Cooper (“Maestro”), Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“Killers of the Flower Moon”) and Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka”) can hope for a Globe.

Around 300 journalists from all over the world vote on the winners. The trophies, in the shape of a gold-colored globe, are scheduled to be awarded on January 7, 2024 in Beverly Hills. The broadcaster CBS wants to broadcast the 81st trophy awards live.
