Golden Boy 2021: Pedri wins the award and succeeds Erling Haaland
The successor to Erling Haaland has been found: With Pedri, a super talent from FC Barcelona will be awarded the Golden Boy Award 2021.
Midfield jewel Pedri from FC Barcelona has been named Golden Boy 2021. The Spaniard won the Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport organized election for the best player in the world under 21 years of age.
In second place behind Pedri was Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, a talent from the Bundesliga. Jamal Musiala (FC Bayern), Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) and Karim Adeyemi (RB Salzburg) were also nominated for the award.
Golden Boy: Pedri succeeds Erling Haaland
Pedri is the successor to BVB star striker Erling Haaland, who was named Golden Boy in 2020.
The 18-year-old international has quickly established himself as one of the most important players at Barca, although he has only played four competitive games this season due to injury problems. Pedri was also a key figure in Spain’s national team at the European Championships last summer, and he also made it to the final with the selection of the Iberians at the Olympics in Tokyo.
