This year, as fans, you can choose the best player of the year 2021.
GOAL50 is back – but not as you know it.
The ranking of the best male and female players on the planet is undergoing an exciting and dramatic rejuvenation.
If in the past the winner was chosen by experts from our 42 editions, this year you readers will decide who will come out on top in the end.
How exactly does it work?
We have created two shortlists with the 50 best soccer players in the world each. You can access these two lists via both the Goal apps and the websites.
It’s not just about simply voting for your favorite player. Instead, there is a series of randomly selected head-to-head comparisons.
Was Lionel Messi better than Cristiano Ronaldo in 2021? Should Alexia Putellas stand before Caroline Graham Hansen?
