Pure excitement at GNTM: The fourth episode of “Germany’s Next Top Model” has three shoots, a new candidate and a move into the model villa. The highlights of the new GNTM episode.

GNTM 2024: What happened?

After a record-breaking three episodes, all of which revolved around the casting of the new “Germany’s Next Top Model” candidates, the 40 selected are finally off on a big shooting trip. But before the plane arrives Modelvilla can take off, the candidates have to prove themselves again on German soil. In the shoot-out they compete against a partner assigned to them. Not only are they responsible for their poses, but they also have to use a self-timer to take the perfect photo. They only have one chance to do this.

Before the shooting can begin, Heidi Klum welcomes another candidate. Tracy Baumgarten, participant in the last GNTM season, can fight again for the title of “Germany’s Next Top Model” in 2024. Last year she voluntarily dropped out in the fifth episode, but then turned to Heidi Klum live in the finale. “I realized that I let a very big opportunity pass me by and I deeply regret my decision. Heidi, at this point I would like to ask you if you would like me to be part of the next season?” said Baumgarten. Klum then assured the 26-year-old a place in the new season. Tracy’s attitude for her second chance: “I’m back and I’m going to rock this.”

However, she does not succeed in the shoot-out against candidate Fabienne; her competitor masters the challenge better than her and thus secures a place in the GNTM campaign shoot together with Klum. The juror and Jean-Paul Gaultier were also able to convince 19 other candidates. As part of the GNTM campaign, they will not only be able to produce the opener and the images for the advertising posters for the new season together with Klum, but will also be featured on more than 10,000 posters throughout Germany as well as in XXL format on the Rheintower in Düsseldorf . To do this, the men put on high heels – and the women get naked on top.

“It’s unusual,” said candidate Linus about his feeling in the high shoes. Jermaine points out: “When I got out of there I thought my foot was broken – we can get a paramedic.” On the plane to Tenerife, the 19-year-old can rest his damaged joints for now.

The model villa over the sea, on the other hand, attracts shouts of enthusiasm. But they don’t last long when it comes to the room allocation. Lucas annoyed: “It’s like being on a school trip, really bad. We’re adults.” While some are busy discussing things, others use the time to flirt. Candidate Armin, who already had his eye on fellow contestant Jana in the first episode, doesn’t miss the opportunity to carry her suitcase. To his delight, he was allowed to pose in front of Klum in the shoot-out the next day with the 24-year-old and his friend Dominik.

Here all 19 models (candidate Pitzi has been missing since the campaign shoot for unknown reasons) have to prove themselves again, but this time in a real photo shoot in which Klum himself plays the photographer. She receives support in assessing the models from Hollywood actresses and models Elizabeth Hurley.

For the shoot, the 19 candidates go into the cold water and sand. They lounge on the dark sand in teams of three and four and in outfits they designed themselves, although one candidate in particular surprisingly fails to convince Klum: “I’m a bit surprised that Tracey isn’t the front runner in the group comes first. Because she was already on Top Model last time, she knows a bit and has more experience than the other models.” Six other models fall victim to the challenging combination of wind and weather, and they have to wobble along with Tracey.

Excitement of the week

The fourth episode has a lot of excitement in store: Tracy’s appearance at the beginning of the show not only causes some candidates to roll their eyes. The campaign shoot with Klum and star photographer Rankin as well as the shoot-out on the windy beach in Tenerife also bring a lot of challenges for the young models.

Guest judge

Guest judge and unexpected Klum representative in this episode is Hollywood actress and model Elizabeth Hurley. “I’m very happy that I have an absolute mega star at my side this week. There’s nothing she can’t do. She’s been traveling all over the world as a successful model and actress for decades,” Klum enthuses about the 58th -year olds.

Who has to go?

Of the seven wobblers that Klum and Hurley were unable to convince during the shoot – Tracy, Jana, Yanik, Felice, Bao-Huy, Marcia and Vanessa – four had to leave the show. However, it is not Klum himself who announces the decision, but rather Hurley as her representative. “Heidi is not feeling well,” explains the Hollywood star and emphasizes: “You all worked hard today, but Heidi worked the hardest.”

Hours of wet feet, the long journey and wind and weather weakened the juror, so she cannot be present at the decision. However, the final decision was made in unison, Hurley said. In addition to Yanik, Bao-Huy and Vanessa, Tracy also has to leave the show after just one episode. “Life goes on,” says the 26-year-old.
