Gladbach: Virkus comments on Gosens rumors

Roland Virkus commented on the Gladbach rumors surrounding Robin Gosens. The main focus was on salary.
In addition to Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach is also associated with Robin Gosens. Sporting director Roland Virkus has now commented on this rumor and the general plans in the winter transfer window.
Eintracht Frankfurt would probably like to strengthen the left side with Robin Gosens. After the departure of Filip Kostic, a small weakness was identified there.
However, the SGE is not the only Bundesliga club to be associated with the German international. Most recently, the Gladbachers were said to have a fundamental interest in the 28-year-old – for the same reasons.

Now Roland Virkus has commented on this rumor for the first time. The athletic director explained (via picture): “I don’t know his salary, but it’s clear that he has quality. I can’t confirm the rumors about him, but we think about clever if-then deals all the time.”
A clear rejection of a rumor at least sounds different. Even if Virkus made it clear with reference to the salary that Borussia would also come up against certain financial limits in the event of a loan – which would be the much more likely transfer variant if the worst came to the worst.
After all, Gosens is no longer an unknown player. The 14-time national player has made a name for himself in Italy in particular. His performances at Atalanta Bergamo initially drew attention to him, and he has been under contract with Milan club Inter since the beginning of the year. There he recently played a very minor role, but of course that doesn’t change his fixed salary.
If Gladbach really wants to get serious about Gosens, financial freedom would most likely have to be created first.
Virkus also explained the general intentions on the winter transfer market: “We’re keeping our eyes open, we’re watching the market very closely. Of course we want to add a few more skills to our squad, speed in all parts of the team always helps – healthy competition is also extremely important .”
