The CNOSF has come out in favor of keeping the Girondins de Bordeaux in Ligue 2. Its opinion is only advisory: it must still be confirmed by the executive committee of the FFF, probably this Wednesday
According to our information, the French National Olympic and Sports Council (CNOSF) issued a favorable opinion on Monday to the Girondins de Bordeaux in their fight to evolve in Ligue 2 next season. It is a victory for the Bordeaux club, which had significantly improved its file after having seen its administrative demotion in National confirmed on appeal by the federal DNCG at the beginning of the month.
The CNOSF agreed to take into account the changes made, in particular the abandonment of half of the debt (i.e. 26 million euros) and the sequestration of 14 million euros by Jogo Bonito, the holding company of Gérard Lopez . The step is important, but not decisive, because the opinion of the CNOSF is only advisory. It is now up to the Executive Committee (Comex) of the Federation to decide. Its members should meet this Wednesday by videoconference to decide.
If the Comex follows the CNOSF, the Girondins will be officially maintained in L2 and will be able to project themselves with peace of mind towards their first match of the season, Saturday against Valenciennes. If the Comex decides to stick to the verdict of the federal DNCG, the Girondins intend to bring the case in summary proceedings before the administrative court.
