The trend is called “Girl Math” or “Boy Math” – i.e. girls’ and boys’ math – and it’s very simple. Parents whose children belong to Generation Z are amazed when they want to understand the economic reality of their children. How can you make money with this form of economics? A TikTok user explains it: “Boy Math”, on the other hand, is a little simpler and could also arise from the crude sales logic of an insurance salesman, but it takes place solely in the minds of those who use it for self-deception. Josh Benevides explained to the Wall Street Journal how it works : “If I use a $400 bike 400 times, it costs me a dollar per ride,” but because he used it 4,000 times, he has a bike that costs just a few cents.
