As planned, Christian Werner managed to bring along a new coach for the third division soccer team TSV 1860 Munich when he was introduced as sports director. Sitting next to Werner on the podium on Wednesday afternoon was Argirios Giannikis, 43, who most recently coached AEK Athens from October 2021 to March 2022 and previously worked for two years at PAS Giannina, where he achieved promotion to the first Greek league. What brought him to Giesing was “the size and emotionality of the club and the total conviction that you can work successfully here.”
