Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself, his confidante Jean-Luc Brunel was found dead in his cell. Ghislaine Maxwell’s brother Ian fears for the life of his sister, who is in prison for trafficking girls.

Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself in his cell under mysterious circumstances in 2019, and his alleged accomplice Jean-Luc Brunel was also found hanged in his Paris prison cell on Saturday. The modeling agent was a close friend and confidant of Epstein’s and is said to have fed hundreds of young girls to the pedophile. Ghislaine Maxwell is said to have introduced the two to each other. The cause and sequence of Jean-Luc Brunel’s death are still under investigation.

grueling prison conditions

Ian Maxwell is deeply concerned for his sister. “It’s really shocking,” he told the New York Post. “Another death by hanging in a maximum security prison. I am completely shocked and stunned.” He said the family fears for her “safety” at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where she is being held. The treatment she is supposed to protect is taking its toll on the detainee. “Despite the psychiatrist’s advice to the contrary, she was classified as suicidal , and they continue to be woken up every 15 minutes during the night. This is a clear violation of prisoners’ rights and human rights,” said Ian Maxwell. His younger sister was not suicidal. He called it “irony” that she is being so closely monitored while Epstein and Brunel, in his opinion, are being monitored apparently died by suicide were not so monitored in their respective prisons.

Brunel was found hanged in his cell in La Santé, Paris, just days after Prince Andrew averted Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s sex abuse claim with a payment believed to be over £12million. His death has fueled new theories as to whether he and Epstein were murdered so they could not betray powerful friends who had complicit in the child sexual abuse.

Prone to conspiracy theories

Even before that, Ian Maxwell was very concerned. In a 24-minute interview on the Americano podcast, he said his sister was prone to conspiracy theories. “One of the conspiracy theories about my father is that he was murdered instead of committing suicide or dying accidentally,” Maxwell said. Robert Maxwell disappeared from his yacht in 1991 in a manner that has never been explained. His body was recovered from the sea near Tenerife. “Of all my siblings, Ghislaine is the only one who believes he was murdered. I’m afraid she also thinks Epstein was murdered.”

In December last year, Maxwell was found guilty of child sex trafficking. She faces 65 years in federal prison. Last month Ghislaine Maxwell, 60, formally requested a retrial after a jury said he had used his own experience of sexual abuse to get the jury to return a guilty verdict.
