Calling on all believers to be immunized against the virus, Pope Francis said on Wednesday in a video message intended to support the “It’s up to you” initiative, a campaign to encourage vaccination in the United States and in other countries of the American continent, that being vaccinated against Covid-19 was “an act of love”.
“Thanks to God and to the work of many, we now have vaccines to protect us against Covid-19,” said the Sovereign Pontiff.
Vaccines “give hope to end the pandemic”
“They give us hope to end the pandemic, but only if they are available to everyone and if we work together,” he added.
“Being vaccinated (…) is an act of love”, and “helping to ensure that the majority of people are vaccinated is an act of love. Love for yourself, love for family and friends, love for everyone, ”the 84-year-old continued.
