Joe Biden is a role model for Olaf Scholz. The US President is experienced and clever, says the Chancellor, whose decisions are very well considered and well calculated. Scholz rarely reveals that he considers other people to be more competent than himself – but with Biden he does so even more clearly. There is obviously a certain affinity or even admiration for a man who knows world politics better than almost anyone else. In this respect, Scholz is like the little brother who looks up to the big one.
