Germany as a science location: Hanna will soon be gone – culture

The “I have it now” phenomenon, the disappointment caused by university science, is deeply anchored in German culture. Early on it encompassed entire faculties, philosophy, law, medicine and unfortunately also theology. In a scholarly tragedy, the hero spoke very sarcastically about the titles “Magister” and “Doctor,” which he had acquired with great effort. His teaching career seemed fruitless to him; at the beginning of the drama he had ten years of postdoc experience under his belt. Faust is the archetype of all those who drop out of academic careers.
