German environmental aid is suing Munich: Is the second stage of the diesel driving ban now coming? – Munich

German Environmental Aid and the German Transport Club want to enforce a tightening of the current rules in court. A day before the trial, the Munich administration defended itself against the accusation that it had deliberately thwarted experts who were in favor of a more extensive diesel driving ban.

The German Environmental Aid (DUH) wants to continue to force tougher action against carbon dioxide in Munich and is sharply attacking Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) and the city immediately before the hearing before the Bavarian Administrative Court this Thursday. When implementing the diesel driving ban, Reiter and his municipality were “outright in breach of contract,” said lawyer Remo Klinger, who legally represents the DUH. Reiter and the majority of the city council did not adhere to the settlement that was reached together on the basis of previous legal proceedings. One can only “warn against concluding contracts with the state capital of Munich. They are apparently not sticking to them.”
