The 2023 annual charts are here – and this time Mick Jagger, Udo Lindenberg and Apache 207 can celebrate.

The year 2023 also had some musical highlights to offer. As investigator of the Official German Charts, GfK Entertainment presented the annual charts in Baden-Baden this Friday. This time rapper Apache 207 (26), rock musician Udo Lindenberg (77) and British music icon Mick Jagger (80) can celebrate.

“Komet” is single of the year

The song “Komet” was streamed more than 275 million times in 2023, it stayed at the top of the charts for 21 weeks and in the top 10 for 42 weeks – no other single has achieved that this year. Apache 207 and Udo Lindenberg have thus delivered the most successful single of 2023. “Hey, that’s amazing! Totally blown away,” Lindenberg is quoted as saying in a press release.

Places two to five are occupied by Miley Cyrus (31) with “Flowers”, Ayliva feat. Mero with “She knows”, Nina Chuba (25) with “Wildberry Lillet” and the duo David Guetta & Bebe Rexha with “I’m Good (Blue)”.

The Rolling Stones deliver album of the year

Unsurprisingly, the Rolling Stones deliver in the album charts. The exceptional British artists around frontman Mick Jagger released their 24th studio album this year with “Hackney Diamonds”. It is the first record with new songs by the Rolling Stones since “A Bigger Bang”, which was released around 18 years ago. The wait was worth it, “Hackney Diamonds” is the album of the year 2023. “Thank you Germany, what an end to the year!” Jagger is quoted by GfK Entertainment.

Second place goes to Depeche Mode with “Memento Mori”, third and fourth place go to Metallica with “72 Seasons” and Apache 207 with “Gartenstadt”. US superstar Taylor Swift (33) clinches two places in the top 10: “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” lands in fifth place, “Midnights” in ninth place.
