Gerhard Richter’s work can be seen at Tegernsee – Bavaria

The art collector Thomas Olbricht owns all editions by the artist Gerhard Richter, the only collector in the world. He is now showing a selection in the Gulbransson Museum Tegernsee – a sensation for the small house.

Thomas Olbricht has been collecting stamps for 72 years. Not all of them, of course, he specializes in the first brand released in each country. In Germany this is the “Schwarze Einser”, published in Bavaria in 1849. He only likes stamps on letters, neatly canceled and with complete margins. “Out of 1,000 you can find one where everything is right,” says Olbricht, briefly giving the impression that collecting art is a comparatively easy task. Because that’s what the chemist, doctor and heir to the Wella Group has been doing since 1986.
