Gérald Baticle appointed assistant to Thierry Henry in the France Espoirs team, Gaël Clichy also in the staff

Free since his layoff last November by Angers, since relegated to Ligue 2, Gérald Baticle will return to service. By confirming the appointment of Thierry Henry as the new coach of the France Espoirs team, this Thursday, the French Federation (FFF) clarified that the former striker from Auxerre and Strasbourg in particular would join the staff as an assistant.

It is the first time in his career that the technician (53 years old), who also led youth teams in Auxerre (2005-2008), before moving on to Brest (2008-2009) or even within the OL in different functions (2011-2021) will join the FFF. During his playing career, he was in the France A ‘team but never wore the jersey of the Blues.

Gaël Clichy should join the staff

Thierry Henry wanted to arrive with a man of confidence in his staff. Unless the situation turns around, it will be Gaël Clichy (38), his former teammate at Arsenal and with the Blues. Finally, the FFF could provide Lionel Rouxel (53), the current coach of the France under-19 team, to further expand the staff of Thierry Henry.
