The two most recent creations of the electric Genesis GV60 and the X Concept show exactly where the electric journey is going. “The GV60 is our first electric car with its own platform and a particularly dynamic design – Genesis is clearly positioning itself in the direction of electromobility. Inside there is a tidy cockpit with two twelve-inch screens and a head-up display. Thanks to the approximately 2.90 meter long wheelbase, there is plenty of space inside. Each model has a 77.4 kWh battery. The rear-wheel drive version has a maximum range of 450 km per charge and has a 168 kW / 229 hp engine with a maximum torque of 350 Nm. The all-wheel drive version is equipped with a 160 kW / 218 PS motor for the rear wheels and a 74 kW / 100 PS motor for the front wheels, which corresponds to a total output of 234 kW / 318 PS and a maximum torque of 605 Nm, while the maximum Range is 400 kilometers.

The top model has two 160 kW motors on the front and rear axles, which deliver a total output of 320 kW / 435 hp and 605 Nm, with the charging station returning after almost 370 kilometers. A special boost mode gives the sporty GV60 additional dynamics for ten seconds and an image spurt from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.0 seconds. The Genesis GV60 uses a 400/800 volt multi fast charge system that increases the 400 volts supplied by the charger to 800 volts. With a charging capacity of 350 kW with the quick charge function, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. In addition, the normal charging time has been reduced by increasing the charging power from 7.2 to 11 kilowatts. If necessary, the V60 can also be used as a mobile power source. It has a vehicle-to-load function with which its battery can charge other electronic devices with 3.6 kilowatts.

After the announcement that the G80 will also be launched as an electric version, many customers are already looking forward to the series implementation of the Genesis X Concept. The elegant study of the X Concept celebrated its official world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in spring. “The car is a concept vehicle that embodies the essential elements that Genesis pursues in its designs,” says Jay Chang, Genesis CEO.
