One of the departure halls at London Luton Airport was the scene of a violent brawl on Friday 14 May. Several passengers came to blows without knowing precisely the reasons for this brawl, reports TMZ. According to information from the site, a passenger insulted a woman. The man accompanying him then allegedly threw a bottle in retaliation. A general fight then broke out.

A video of the incident was posted on social media. We see several men fighting among the passengers. We see a suitcase which is brandished like a weapon. A man stands up on a seat to better deal his blows. A little further on, a man is struck by several others while he is on the ground.

Three seriously injured

The toll of this fight, which lasted only a few minutes, is heavy: four people injured, including three seriously who had to be taken to hospital. The police eventually intervened. A total of 17 people between the ages of 20 and 55 were arrested. Eleven of them will soon be summoned to court to answer for violent disturbances, reports the BBC. Six people have been exonerated.

“We take a zero tolerance approach to violence and continue to help police,” said a spokesperson for London Luton Airport. He apologized to all passengers who were present that day in the departure hall.
