GDP – economy in euro zone grows minimally – economy

Economic growth in the euro zone accelerated less than expected in the spring. In the second quarter, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the 19 countries grew by 0.6 percent compared to the previous quarter, according to a second estimate from the statistics office Eurostat on Wednesday. In a first estimate, growth of 0.7 percent was determined. Growth was 0.5 percent in the first quarter. Of the countries that have already released data, Spain saw the most significant growth. Here the economy grew by 1.1 percent. In Italy, GDP increased by 1.0 percent and in France by 0.5 percent. The German economy stagnated.
