GDL and Deutsche Bahn: Eleven percent more wages should prevent strikes – economy

Deutsche Bahn surprisingly offered significantly more salary right at the start of negotiations. In doing so, she wants to avoid massive train cancellations, which the train drivers’ union has already threatened. She has apparently achieved an initial goal: the talks should continue.

Deutsche Bahn is trying to prevent labor disputes in the next few weeks with an unusually high and early wage offer. Specifically, the company offered a salary increase of eleven percent in the first round of negotiations on Thursday. In addition, there should be an inflation bonus of up to 2,850 euros. This roughly corresponds to the very high wage settlement in the public sector, which only came about after many warning strikes.
