Gäubodenfest in Straubing: Why wasn’t Aiwanger allowed in the carriage? – Bavaria

Traditional costumes, flag bearers, musicians, decorated handcarts with children in them, tractors with festival wagons, magnificent horse and carriages – the Gäuboden folk festival in Straubing is traditionally opened with the procession to the fairgrounds. Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (FW) followed the spectacle almost two weeks ago from the terrace of a café in the old town and photos suggest: with joy, at least he doesn’t look unhappy. He couldn’t take a seat in the spectator stand because it wasn’t available this year due to dilapidation. And it was probably also forgotten that Aiwanger was not allowed to ride in one of the carriages – although local free voters had asked for it. Which in turn was rejected. And what now had an aftermath in the city council.
