Garmisch-Partenkirchen: manipulation of power boxes before the G7 summit – Bavaria

Before the G-7 summit at Schloss Elmau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, some dangerous manipulations of power distribution boxes took place. Several times in June, cables were plugged into the power boxes of an aid organization in such a way that no electricity flowed – and that an electric shock for the employee concerned could not have been ruled out during the repair, as the German Press Agency learned from security circles. Accordingly, suspects are suspected among the opponents of the summit. But no one was harmed. Investigated for damage to property.

These are distribution boxes within the security area that was closed on Sunday. Until midnight on June 28, only those who can show accreditation will have access.

There were also a few daubs, such as “Move G7” and “No G7”. Because of the local and temporal proximity to the summit and the nature of the damage, it can be assumed that these are politically motivated crimes, the police said.

The G-7 meeting is to take place for the second time from June 26th to 28th in Schloss Elmau at the foot of the Wetterstein Mountains. The heads of state and government of the G-7 countries had already met in the alpine luxury hotel in 2015.
