Garching: the youngest city councilor resigns – the district of Munich

A change is pending in Garching’s city council: The youngest local politician on the committee, Felicia Kocher from the Greens, is retiring. The 20-year-old explains that the time required for city council work often competed with her studies. At the moment it no longer seemed possible for her to conscientiously carry out professional, private and municipal tasks at the same time and in a way that was compatible with her own health.

Kocher was elected to the Garching City Council in 2020 with the second most votes on the Green Party list; She is involved in the local association and is a member of the board of directors of the district association. She will continue this work even after she has left the city council. The Green faction regrets Kocher’s withdrawal, but has her back. Werner Landmann, who was a member of the Garching body from 2002 to 2020 – until 2015 for the SPD – will take over her seat.
