Garching – fire brigade extinguishes burning field – district of Munich

A 1.5 hectare harvested grain field on the northern edge of Garching caught fire and burned down for unknown reasons. The Garching fire brigade arrived on Freisinger Landstraße on Tuesday around 1.30 p.m. According to the fire brigade, heavy smoke developed due to strong gusts of wind. The fire spread towards Echinger Weg. The fire brigade fought the flames with special technology that allowed the fire pump to be used while driving. The area was then plowed up. The government of Upper Bavaria warned on Wednesday of an increased risk of forest fires and ordered observation flights for the Eichstätt and Neuburg-Schrobenhausen districts.
