Claudio Cumani, chairman of the integration advisory board in Garching, was elected to the board of the umbrella organization at the general assembly of the working group of foreigners, migrants and integration advisory boards in Bavaria (AGABY). The working group networks and supports the advisory boards in municipalities, cities and districts in their task of representing the interests of migrants in politics. She advises municipalities, districts and state politics on the processes for a participatory integration policy in order to achieve equal and non-discriminatory coexistence, as stated in a press release. “My election as an assessor is primarily a recognition of the work that the entire integration advisory board of the city of Garching has done in recent years,” said Cumani after the election. The Garching Integration Advisory Board will meet on Thursday, September 1st at 7 p.m. for a public session in the community center.
