The 16-inch panel in the new Xiaomi Redmi G will have a crisp 2.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 165 Hertz. The gaming notebook can already be pre-ordered, but unfortunately not in Europe.

In its new version of the Redmi G, Xiaomi focuses primarily on optimizing the screen. The brightness should now be a maximum of 500 cd/m², and there is also a color precision of Delta E < 1.5. the 165 Hertz refresh rate are an increase compared to the previous year’s model, whose display was “only” equipped with 144 Hertz. At 2.5K, i.e. 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, the resolution is also higher than the 1,920 x 1,080 pixels of the predecessor. Xiaomi has made further optimizations to the form factor of the Redmi G. The new model is round 200 grams lighter and about 13 millimeters shorter.

Inside, Xiaomi relies on the twelfth core generation from Intel, specifically it is CPUs from the H45 series. However, it is not known which models Xiaomi uses here. The optionally available graphics card is (if the information is correct, there is some confusion here) one Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050 Ti. 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB SSD are also installed.

Either import or wait

The Xiaomi Redmi G 2022 has been available for pre-order since July 21, but not in Germany. Anyone who wants this laptop will have to import it for the time being. The price starts at the equivalent of around 1000 euros. It is not yet known if and when the laptop will also appear in this country. We don’t know anything about a possible AMD variant either, but Xiaomi usually delivers it a little later.
