George RR Martin explains why he can’t finish the ‘Game of Thrones’ book template

George RR Martin writes on his blog how he finds the new series “House Of The Dragon” and what other projects he is currently working on. And of course: Why “The Winds Of Winter” is still not out.
George RR Martin writes and writes and writes. Not only on the book template for “Game of Thrones” under the title “A Song of Fire and Ice”. No, he still has time his blog to fill. There he published an article entitled “Random Updates and Bits o’ News”.
Directly addressing his fans who are eagerly awaiting his book The Winds Of Winter, he said: “I know, I know, for a lot of you out there this project is the only thing that matters. But they ALL matter to me.” He explains, “Yes, of course I’m still working on ‘The Winds of Winter’. I’ve made great strides on ‘Winds’ in 2020, and less in 2021… but ‘less’ isn’t ‘nothing’ in the world of.” Westeros continues to be his top priority and will remain so “until the story is told.”
But GRR Martin also has good news for his fans: “I’m very excited,” he writes. “House Of The Dragon” was shot in London and is now in post-production. The series is supposed to be about the house of Targaryen. “I liked what I saw. I’m curious to see more. I’m also excited about my other projects. I can’t wait to tell you all about it, but I can’t yet…”
Then, fortunately, he writes a bit about his next collaboration with the broadcaster HBO. “We’re developing animated series. Some of the ideas we’re working on are very different in tone and approach from what we’ve had before, and that excites me. The world of Westeros (and Essos, etc.) is huge , and there is room in it for many types of stories about a wide range of characters.”
