Under the keyword Galaxy AI There will be completely new AI possibilities on smartphones, and the Korean hardware giant is throwing all of its expertise into the balance here. The rumor mill was already bubbling heavily in advance: the AI should be able to bring its own ChatGPT, expanded image editing functions, and even daily help with using the smartphone. But what is actually behind it? The Korean company has now officially presented the devices, and here you can read what the new technology is all about! But first, a short teaser video from Samsung itself:

Samsung then didn’t waste any time and went straight into it. Even if the outside has only changed slightly to very little, a lot has changed on the inside. As the first company in 2024, Samsung is already setting the bar really high, and that’s saying something. Here you will find a nicely sorted summary of what the group has in store for us in the next few months – buckle up!

About Galaxy AI

The latest push will bring AI to both devices and Samsung’s cloud services for everyone in the world. The latest smartphones, i.e. the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+ and that S24 Ultra are more attuned to you than ever before. Galaxy AI will open up new avenues for you, according to the manufacturer, but what does it look like in detail? Well, artificial intelligence can help you almost everywhere. This is where features such as live translation (also for telephone calls!) come into play, a chat assistant that lets you adjust the wording or proofread your text. There is also the function of transcription, intelligent writing of texts, but also intelligent and completely independent formatting of texts. This can save a lot of time, especially if you spend a lot of time on notes and other text-based apps.

13 languages are supported at launch – that’s quite a number. But that’s not all, because Android Auto gets useful updates with the AI-supported summary of your messages and clever assistance functions such as sharing your location or estimated time of arrival. Users can also be happy with normal use, because with Circle to Search with Google you only have to hold down the home button. Then you circle something – like an animal, a text or something else, and you immediately get Google results for it. AI Photo Editing lets you expand backgrounds, cut out or rearrange people, and with videos, thanks to AI-generated intermediate images, there is always the option to use a slo-mo feature. Super HDR completes the whole thing from the viewfinder to the post.

The whole Galaxy family united: Ultra, Plus and standard model.

What about the hardware?

Nothing has changed in the basic food chain. The flagship is still undisputedly the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra – click here for the announcement. This of course includes the one from the gradeseries of well-known stylus, the most powerful cameras and much more. What’s new this time is the titanium casing, which creates a textured feel while also making the smartphone lighter and taking everything to a new premium level. It’s the same with the cameras, because the Ultra version gets a new sensor with 5x optical zoom, which then enables quad telephoto zoom with 10x zoom (improved by AI). Especially at night, things like increased image stabilization, which offers 160% more light intensity and more, are particularly useful. The fact that you can easily retouch reflections thanks to AI, generally beautify the image and more, tops it all off.

There is also increased performance and great cooling thanks to a vapor chamber solution that is up to 1.9x larger. But also with the larger Samsung Galaxy S24+ and at regular Galaxy S24 there will be a lot going on. For the first time, all models have an OLED screen with an adaptive frame rate between 1 and 120 Hz. At the same time, such a screen can be up to 2600 nits bright, more than 40% brighter than before. The two standard models have a one-piece design, so the back and side frame are a single piece and seamlessly connected. This, together with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass, results in more resistance to drops and the display is also less susceptible to scratches. Ray tracing, stronger cooling, a thinner bezel on the models, seven years of updates and the environment is also taken into consideration: Hats off to Samsung, a strong line-up for 2024!
