Galaxy Fold 5 Alternative will be released on January 26th

At IFA 2023, Honor confirmed that the Honor Magic V2 will be released globally. This is currently one of the thinnest foldable devices on the market. The manufacturer has now confirmed when the device will be available in stores.

In mid-July 2023, Honor officially presented the Magic V2 for the Chinese market in Beijing. Finally, Honor officially announced the foldable for the European market at IFA 2023. Honor advertises the Magic V2 as the thinnest foldable currently available on the market. With a thickness of 9.9 mm, it is significantly thinner than the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 (test).

Available from January 26th

The Honor Magic V2 will be available from… January 26, 2024 be available in Germany and 1,999 euros cost, making it around 400 euros more expensive than its predecessor. The matching 66 watt charger is also available for just 1 euro. Until February 29th, buyers will also receive the Honor Watch 4 and a carbon-look case for free. A free screen replacement is also offered within the first 12 months.

Thin foldables with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

There’s work going on inside Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is supported by 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The manufacturer installs either 256, 512 or 1,024 gigabytes of UFS 4.0 storage. The hardware is powered by a silicon carbon battery that has a capacity of 5,000 mAh despite the device’s compact size. The OLED display on the outside measures 6.43 inches, has a FullHD+ resolution and offers a 120 Hz refresh rate. Inside is the foldable 7.92-inch OLED panel. The latter offers a QHD resolution, 120 Hz and native pen support.

Triple camera with 50 MP main sensor

Honor installed one on the back Triple camera setup, whose main camera has a resolution of 50 MP. The sensor includes an f/1.9 aperture, optical image stabilization and laser autofocus. There is also a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with OIS and a third sensor. This is a telephoto lens with 2.5x zoom and 20 MP.
