Following the previous presentation of smartphones and tablets, Samsung is bringing new notebooks with it to the MWC 2022. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 are again characterized by the use of OLED screens, but now rely on new Alder Lake CPUs, Windows 11 and the proprietary One UI Book 4.0.
Samsung presented four notebooks today, which are divided into two device classes, covering the classic clamshell and variants with a 360-degree hinge. In addition, a version with a 13.3-inch and a model with a 15.6-inch display are offered in each category. All variants have in common the use of an OLED panel with 1,920 × 1,080 pixels in 16:9 format with a glass cover. The 360-degree models also support touch and input via the S Pen.
Alder Lake replaces Tiger Lake
For the new devices, Samsung has once again entered into an exclusive partnership with Intel and relies on the fresh 12th Core i generation Alder Lake processors. Samsung always offers the 13.3-inch Galaxy Book 2 Pro with a Core i5-1240P, while the 15.6-inch model always uses the Core i7-1260P. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 is basically available in both sizes with both processors. The starting prices are 1,199 euros and 1,599 euros and 1,299 euros and 1,399 euros. Windows 11 gets OneUI Book 4.0
A new operating system is moving in with the new processors: Windows 11. For the first time, Samsung has also integrated its own One UI surface, which is familiar from smartphones and tablets, but in a much more subtle implementation and limited to a few applications. The interface dubbed One UI Book 4.0 comes with its own apps for Samsung settings, the Samsung Gallery and Samsung Notes. Users can sign in with their Samsung account and access cloud-stored content from these apps, as well as perform new features like quick pairing of Galaxy Buds. The notebooks also act as a smart home center for SmartThings and can be paired with the new Galaxy Tab S8 series in order to control them with the notebook’s keyboard and touchpad.
Better webcam for remote work
A new webcam with a higher Full HD resolution and a wider field of view is intended to improve use in remote work environments. Samsung is also giving the notebooks dual-array microphones and wants to improve the voice quality with AI noise reduction. The batteries correspond to the capacities of the previous year with 63 Wh and 68 Wh, but with the new devices a reduced standby consumption should have a positive influence on the runtimes. The notebooks are charged via USB-C via a 65-watt power supply.

Lightweight with many connections
The notebooks are also characterized by their compact dimensions and very low weight as well as the relatively good connection equipment. The color selection for the Galaxy Book 2 Pro is limited to graphite, the silver/white shown in the pictures for the presentation in Barcelona will not come to Germany. Things are different with the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360, whose 15.6″ version will also be available in this color combination in Germany. Samsung also offers graphite and burgundy to choose from.
