Schrader’s fine sense of humor and satirical undertone were decisive for her award. Comedian legend Loriot is also honored posthumously.

The director Maria Schrader was awarded the Bremen Film Prize at the Bremen Film Festival. Schrader (“I’m your human”, 2021) was awarded the golden pug at the gala by the organizers for the fine humor and satirical undertone in her works.

Comedian legend Loriot was awarded the honorary award in the evening. His grandson Leopold von Bülow-Quirk accepted the golden honorary pug on his behalf and paid tribute to Bremen as the long creative working place of his deceased grandfather.

The film festival is showing more than 100 films of all genres until Sunday. The nominated productions are honored in the four major categories of humor/satire, innovation, Bremen film and German premiere. Films from Europe, Asia and North and South America are represented in the competitions. Productions from Lower Saxony and Bremen are also represented in the competition.
