Celebrations in Stockholm: The Swedish royals gave a gala dinner at the palace for Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.
The Swedish royal family has a gala dinner for the French president Emmanuel Macron (46) and his wife Brigitte (70), who are currently on a state visit to the Scandinavian country. Next to King Carl XVI. Gustaf (77) and Queen Silvia (80), Crown Princess Victoria (46) and her husband Prince Daniel (50) and Prince Carl Philip (44) with Princess Sofia (39) also came to the celebrations at the palace in Stockholm.
Lots of glamor in the Swedish palace
The women in particular caused a stir at the banquet with their evening dresses: Crown Princess Victoria shone in a silver one-shoulder evening gown with gold decorations. The 46-year-old also wore a gold and diamond tiara, diamond earrings and a clutch to match the metallic look outfit. Princess Sofia appeared in a shiny champagne-colored dress with long sleeves, and she also wore a headdress. Meanwhile, her mother-in-law, Queen Silvia, stood out in a loose amethyst-colored gown.
Brigitte Macron wore a straight-cut, floor-length dress in light blue for the gala dinner. The outfit was decorated with sequins at the neckline and waist. The 70-year-old accessorized with diamond earrings.
The Macrons are in Sweden for two days
On Tuesday (January 30th) Emmanuel Macron was received at the start of his two-day state visit to Sweden. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (60) welcomed the French President and his wife together with King Carl Gustaf.
According to media reports, the Macrons have planned a trip to Malmö, Sweden’s third largest city, for this Wednesday. There they want to visit a European research facility that is under construction and visit a company to talk about green technologies.
