The USA has just prevented the shutdown, at least for now, and now the next showdown is imminent. As announced, the very right-wing Republican Matt Gaetz from Florida and his allies want to overthrow their party colleague Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Gaetz has been threatening this for days, but on Monday evening he got serious and introduced a “motion to vacate”, a motion to repeal.
