- The G-7 summit began this Sunday at Schloss Elmau, where heads of state and government from Germany, the USA, Canada, Japan, Great Britain, Italy and France and the EU leaders will meet.
- On the first day of the summit, participants pledged to mobilize $600 billion for global infrastructure.
- Earlier, Biden announced an import ban on Russian gold, with which the G7 is intended to further isolate Russia.
- The G-20 meeting in the fall is “too important” to let the Russian President “destroy” it, says EU Commission President von der Leyen.
