Two girls collapsed on the ice of a pond in Fürth and were rescued by a passerby. According to police, the nine and ten year old children were playing on the frozen pond when they collapsed several meters from the bank.
Before the emergency services arrived, a 28-year-old man decided to attempt a rescue. He approached the girls lying on their stomachs across the ice and pulled them out of the water with a dog leash. The children were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
